Nice job removing the posts at asymptomatic where I left a comment about your non use (over three years of non use) of the blog and my request for you to transfer this blog to me, who would actually use the url. It's such an easy thing to do with wordpress and being that you are not using it at all what would be the trouble?

No, it's not too buggy, it's just not a recommended part of the core. On that account, I can understand.

Perhaps they will add the <a href="http://andy.wordpress.com/2005/11/07/wordpress-likes-flickr-kinda/" rel="nofollow">plugin</a> back in...

[...] The day before yesterday, Owen pointed out that the Wordpress.com’s media browser now allows you to insert Flickr photo’s into your posts. I immediatelly had to try that, off course, and was greated with an error about a Flickr ID when I clicked on the ‘Browse Flickr’ option on the Write Post page. [...]

Ah, Dougal, yes, you've found the glitch. After you set the username, if the username is a correct username, then you can't change it. You would likely want to change it if you entered your screen name instead of your username (just like you did) since it returns the wrong photos in that case.

I did not write the code for the user profile (Ryan?), but my notes in the Flickr code remind a developer that does that the flickr_user_id value needs to be reset to emptystring whenever the flickr_username value is set. Maybe I'll add that to my own queue today, if it's not already done.

I know of at least one glitch with setting the Flickr Username, so it's entirely possible that there are more. It would be helpful to have your Flickr username so that we could do some testing. No passwords - you don't (yet) have access to upload things from inside WordPress, so just the username should be fine.

I'm sure you're already working on some user-friendly handling for when the flickr id isn't configured. My problem right now is that it keeps pulling up photos for some other flickr user :-/ This is me: http://flickr.com/people/dougal/ This is some other person: http://flickr.com/people/60056102@N00/ My login is 'dougal', but this other user has the screen name 'dougal'. I've tried putting my screen name into my profile, but it still pulls up that other user's photos (maybe it's cached?)

For the record, I'm having the exact same problem. Don't know if this has anything to do with it, but I'm using IE -- I'm on the road and don't have access to any other browsers.
